This particular square has had an inconsistent history with cafés and restaurants coming and going like commuters at a train station during rush hour.  For the last few years, this had decreased substantially with an equilibrium setting in. Most of the eatery scene here is now stable. Tables and chairs start appearing in the cool months with heaters going and blankets provided. As the weather warms, finding a place at your chosen venue may be difficult without a reservation. Patrons are welcome to sit as long as they like, even if they only ordered a drink. This often leaves hungry people-in-waiting feeling flummoxed verging on angry. Don't lose patience though. Once you have a table, you can hold it hostage in revenge.
