Nyugati Train Station

From this train station you can either take the metro or walk. Directions for either are below, but before you leave, take notice that this station was built by the Eiffel Company, the same one that built the Eiffel Tower in Paris. DO NOT TAKE A TAXI!!

 

Metro: If you are going to buy a pass, there are machines at the tram stop or there is a BKV ticket office in the Blue Metro here. Take the steps down from the tram platform in front of the station.

 

Purchase two tickets for 350 Ft each or 3,000 Ft for a book of 10 tickets, a one day pass for 1,650 Ft, a three day pass for 4,150 Ft, a 7 day pass for 4,950 Ft, or a 14 day pass for 7,000 Ft. The one, three or seven day passes do not need validation. Look to see if you need to sign the back of the pass. This rule changes from time to time.

  • Go out the front door and you will see tram tracks in the middle of the street.
  • You want to be on the opposite side of the train station.
  • You can take either the 4 or 6 tram to Wesselényi . This is the third stop.
  • Validate the ticket on the tram. Do not forget this.
  • When you get off, you will see a clothing store on the corner of Erzsébet and Wesselényi.
  • Go down Wesselényi with the clothing store on your left side.
  • The second corner is Akácfa u.
  • Turn left on Akácfa and come to number 18. There are two 18s. We are the large brown doors, not the office.
  • Remember the address is Akácfa u. 18 fourth floor, apartment 24. There is a new doorbell system. All you need to do is press 2+4 (24), our apartment number. You will then hear it ringing into our apartment.

Walking (0.8 mile): When you leave the train station, you are on the körút or the ring road. This road changes names as it passes through the different districts. You will be at Teréz körút.

  • With your back to the station, you want to turn left. You will pass McDonalds and Eiffel Plaza. Continue on the körút and it will change names to Erzsébet körút. Walk until you get to Wesselényi utca.
  • Turn right on Wesselényi utca and walk two blocks to Akácfa.
  • Turn left on Akácfa. Remember the address is Akácfa u. 18 fourth floor, apartment 24. There is a new doorbell system. You will see our names Schmitz/James with BudaBaB/ACES, but all you need to do is press 2+4 (24), our apartment number. You will then hear it ringing into our apartment.
